Keion Jackson is a 3x Emmy-nominated TV writer, author, and playwright.

Keion recently worked as Co-Executive Producer and Senior Story Editor of the new animated Netflix series Dee and Friends in Oz.

He’s been the Story Editor on three animated children’s shows, including Netflix’s  Karma’s World, created by Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, which received an NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Children’s Program.

Keion has also written for Nickelodeon, Sesame Workshop, Amazon Prime, 9 Story Media, and more.  He has his own show in development with Disney Television Animation.

In addition, he created an animated action-comedy series called Early Birds.  You can learn more about it HERE.

Keion is a playwright, too.  His Hurricane Katrina-inspired stage play Gumbo House was workshopped and performed Off-Broadway.

He is the author of a humorous, light-hearted book of inspiration called “Because Jesus”. Keion has four children’s books to his credit, including “You’re a Hero:  All the Ways You Save the Day”, which features DC superheroes Batman and Superman.

Keion previously worked as a Senior Creative Writer at Hallmark Cards Inc., writing everything from greeting cards, to sassy coffee mugs, to catchphrases for stuffed animals.  He also wrote for Mahogany, Hallmark’s African-American card line, and worked as a cultural liaison — studying societal trends and providing context to help create content that serviced the emotional needs of African-American consumers. He translated those insights into culturally-nuanced content with mass appeal for wider, more diverse audiences.

Keion Jackson was born and raised in Louisiana.  He is very proud of where he comes from.  In March of 2024, Keion’s hometown of Port Allen, Louisiana presented him with a key to the city.

He has a degree in Mass Media Arts from Clark Atlanta University, with a concentration in Television and Film Production.
